There's this place in my town called the Coffee House Cafe. I think that's a funny name for a place. But that's not the reason that it's the one place in town that I don't frequently steal free wi-fi from. It's because of the people outside. They have these tables outside, you see, and the people who sit outside at the Coffee House Cafe tables sipping their Coffee House Cafe drinks sit out there giving off a very intimidating, cooler than you air. Because of that, this place has always scared the crap out of me. Luckily, I have good friends, who are downtown rats like me. They're also a lot braver than me and have older brothers who help them conquer their fears of scary coffee shop goers. So, today, with the encouragement of one of my best friends and her brother Benjamin, I came into the Coffee House Cafe all alone, ordered a ginger ale (I don't have enough money to afford coffee) and sat down to blog. It turns out the people here are very nice. I'm just a bit of an idiot for never noticing that before.
You know what else? They sell chapbooks here! I looked down at their glass counter and saw that they have chapbooks, and I basically flipped. I asked the nice guy working if they sell local chapbooks. He said yes, and I asked if I could bring mine in. He said he didn't know if I had to clear it with the owner, but it should be fine. It turns out you really can do things for yourself. It will take a little bit more effort than just sitting back and letting someone else do it for you, but it can happen, and it's hella worth it. I'm in a pretty good mood today.
Thanks for reading.
